Depth Chart is a college basketball recruiting analytics service. Every number on this site traces to a named source, every claim survives a verification gate before it publishes, and every page tells you when it was computed. This page is the contract.
Rosters, coaching staffs, and player pages are read nightly from the athletic departments' own websites — the sources schools themselves maintain — and cross-checked against national ratings, rankings, and efficiency metrics from independent providers. We keep the original copy of every page we read, so any number can be re-derived from what the source actually said on the day we read it.
Our data studies are computed, not written: a registered recipe pulls the live database and the arithmetic chooses the words. A superlative appears only when the numbers make it true; where the sample behind a figure is thin, the figure is withheld rather than estimated. Our guides are drafted with AI assistance and then verified clause by clause against the documents they cite — a claim that cannot be matched to a passage in a named source does not survive. A human approves every page before its first publication, and every page names the documents it stands on. A recurring data study may republish a recomputation through those same checks under a policy a human explicitly switched on — and the version record names that policy as the approver, never a person who wasn't there.
Every page is versioned. When we find an error — and at this scale we do — the correction publishes as a new version with the change named, and pages built on the affected data are recomputed. When a data defect is large enough to change a published conclusion, we say so on the affected page rather than quietly replacing it.
Each data study shows the date it was computed and the seasons it covers. Sources behind our guides are re-checked on a schedule; when a governing document changes, the guide that cites it is flagged for re-verification before it is trusted again.
Questions about a specific number? Every study's methodology section names its query, its sample, and its exclusions. If you believe a figure is wrong, tell us at research@mydepthchart.com — the corrections process above is how it gets fixed.
